    We have an immediate opening for an experienced software development manager to join the development team.  This individial will act as system administrator to the independent Company rating, issuance, data transmission, owned agency management applications, web-based products and internal Company applications. This also includes supervising programming staff, designs and directs staff in the design, programming, maintenance, testing, and implementation of programs. This role is responsible for reasonable product quality and maintenance standards for software products. This individual will serve as liaison with Company’s agents, Product Management, Pricing, Underwriting, IRRU, Legal, Claims, vendors, and others for software application usage, troubleshooting, and development activities.

    Qualifications

    Required Knowledge:

    • Bachelor degree in computer science, mathematics or related field or equivalent
    • Personal computer application development, database manipulation software and programming code languages
    • 3-5 years related work experience
    • Insurance policy coverages and rating schemes and insurance products
    • Company and department practices and procedures

     

    Preferred Knowledge:

    • 5-7 years related work experience
    • 2-3 years software development management experience
    • Company guidelines on acceptability and profitability for applications/accounts/policies
    • Principles of finance, business, statistics, and insurance
    • Insurance industry and marketing techniques

     

    Skills:

    • Excellent oral and written communication with all levels of the organization and with Agents
    • Excellent customer service
    • Mathematical and statistical analysis

    • Documentation
